External wall cracks
Poor insulation
Inefficient heating

When your home finally feels warm
Jane's 1910 Edwardian home had charm but was freezing in places, especially her home office. With insulation, ventilation, and a heat pump, she turned it into a genuinely warm, comfortable space and discovered "A home is so much more than just a place where you live."
The challenges:
Draughty rooms
Poor wall insulation
Single-glazed windows
My study room was freezing cold, but now it's the warmest room in the house.
From cold to cosy
This 1930s East Oxford home transformed with insulation, glazing, and ventilation – cutting carbon, lowering bills, and making it warmer year‑round. Eleanor and Chris wrapped their home in expert energy upgrades, turning a draughty terrace into a comfortable space where they can finally feel warm without the thermostat cranked up.
The challenges:
Poor loft insulation
Single-glazed door
Sagging cavity wall insulation
"We've always worried about climate change, but rising energy bills made acting now feel urgent. We truly appreciate the guidance and advice the team provided."
End-to-end service
Heat pump installations are complicated. We make them simple.
A heat pump project often involves an energy assessment, insulation upgrades, new radiator sizing, an MCS-certified installer, and a government grant application. We coordinate all of it.

We assess your home’s readiness
We look at your insulation, your current heating system, and your hot water setup. If your home isn’t ready, we’ll tell you what needs to change first.

FAQs
Answering your questions
Common questions about heat pumps
Is my home suitable for a heat pump?
Heat pumps work best in well-insulated homes with good-sized radiators or underfloor heating. Older properties with poor insulation may need some upgrades first. We’ll assess your home and tell you honestly where you stand — including what would need to happen before a heat pump makes sense.
Will a heat pump actually keep my home warm?
Yes, if it’s sized and installed correctly. The most common reason heat pumps underperform is that they’re undersized or installed in homes that haven’t been properly assessed. We make sure neither of those things happens.
How much does a heat pump cost, and what grants are available?
Air source heat pumps typically cost £10,000–£15,000 installed. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme currently offers a £7,500 grant, bringing the net cost down significantly. We’ll give you an accurate figure for your specific home and manage the grant application on your behalf.
Will my energy bills go up?
Not if the installation is done properly. A well-sized heat pump in an adequately insulated home typically costs less to run than a gas boiler — especially with an off-peak electricity tariff. We’ll model the expected running costs before you commit.
How noisy is a heat pump?
Modern units are much quieter than older models — similar to an air conditioning unit at low speed. We’ll make sure the unit is positioned to minimise noise impact on your household and your neighbours.
Do I need to upgrade my radiators?
Sometimes. Heat pumps run at lower flow temperatures than gas boilers, which means radiators need to be slightly larger to distribute the same amount of heat. We’ll assess whether your existing radiators are adequate or need upgrading — and factor that into the project cost upfront.
Can I get a heat pump if I have a gas boiler currently?
Yes. Switching from gas to a heat pump is one of the most common upgrades we manage. We handle decommissioning the old boiler as part of the project.
