Creating a sustainable home
Nilam transformed her 1960s Paddox estate house to reflect what she truly believes in – adding a heat pump, insulation, and ventilation improvements. Now her home is warmer, greener, and inspiring her neighbours to follow the same path towards sustainable living.
The challenges:
External wall cracks
Poor insulation
Inefficient heating
"I couldn't have asked for more excellent people. So much integrity, very principled, very thorough professionals. It was really reassuring."
When your home finally feels warm
Jane's 1910 Edwardian home had charm but was freezing in places, especially her home office. With insulation, ventilation, and a heat pump, she turned it into a genuinely warm, comfortable space and discovered "A home is so much more than just a place where you live."
The challenges:
Draughty rooms
Poor wall insulation
Single-glazed windows
My study room was freezing cold, but now it's the warmest room in the house.
From cold to cosy
This 1930s East Oxford home transformed with insulation, glazing, and ventilation – cutting carbon, lowering bills, and making it warmer year‑round. Eleanor and Chris wrapped their home in expert energy upgrades, turning a draughty terrace into a comfortable space where they can finally feel warm without the thermostat cranked up.
The challenges:
Poor loft insulation
Single-glazed door
Sagging cavity wall insulation
"We've always worried about climate change, but rising energy bills made acting now feel urgent. We truly appreciate the guidance and advice the team provided."

FAQs
Answering your questions
Common questions about solar panels in London
Is my roof suitable for solar?
South, southeast, and southwest-facing roofs with minimal shading tend to work best. East and west-facing roofs can still be worth it. Flat roofs can also work with the right mounting. We’ll assess your specific roof before recommending anything.
Will solar actually save me money in London?
Yes, in most cases. London gets less sun than the south of Spain, but modern panels are efficient even on overcast days. We’ll model your expected annual generation against your current usage so you know the realistic payback period before you commit.
Do I need a battery?
Not necessarily. A battery lets you store energy generated during the day and use it at night. It adds cost and extends the payback period. We’ll tell you honestly whether a battery makes financial sense for your usage pattern.
How long does installation take?
Most residential installs are completed in a single day. Scaffolding is usually up for 2–3 days. We’ll give you a clear timeline when we scope the job.
Do I need planning permission?
Most solar installations fall under permitted development and don’t need planning permission. Listed buildings and some conservation areas are exceptions. We’ll confirm what applies to your property before anything is started.
What happens if there’s a problem after installation?
We don’t disappear after the install. If anything isn’t performing as expected, contact us and we’ll investigate. We only work with installers who stand behind their work.
